Primary objective
Provide procurement, contract and general administration functions and support to the Procurement team and the Chief
Procurement Officer.
Context statement
The Procurement Operations team provides Departmental staff with oversight, strategic advice and operational support for
all procurement activities. This supports the delivery of a range of Departmental procurement outcomes in a timely manner,
in compliance with the Northern Territory Government's regulatory frameworks and policies and that demonstrate value for
Territory outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist the team with basic procurement and contract administration functions including processing invoices and creating
standard letters from templates.
2. Provide administrative assistance to support the Unit and the Chief Procurement Officer.
3. Build cooperative and collaborative relationships with other procurement staff.
4. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Strong work ethic and commitment to quality outcomes with initiative and an ability to work independently to deliver
successful outcomes.
2. Sound oral, written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with various
stakeholders and to communicate clearly across cultural and professional boundaries.
3. Experience with preparing reports and business documentation.
4. Experience in general office processes with high level attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve objectives.
6. Proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
7. Capacity to participate as a team member, work independently and contribute to a positive organisational culture.
Desirable
1. Certificate/traineeship in Office Studies or similar experience.
2. Year 12 or equivalent experience.
