Manager Event Analysis

Join Destination NSW, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport

Clerk Grade 9/10 with a salary range of $133,348 to $146,945 per annum plus superannuation

Ongoing role based in The Rocks, NSW

About the role

The Manager Event Analysis leads the research and evaluation of events across Destination NSW's portfolio. The role helps measure event performance and impact, providing insights that support investment decisions, event planning and future strategy. This includes analysing outcomes such as visitation, economic benefits, audience engagement and other key measures.

The role manages a small team while also contributing directly to research and analysis projects. It oversees the collection and analysis of data from sources such as surveys, ticketing information and audience research, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Working with stakeholders across the organisation and external providers, the Manager Event Analysis turns data into clear and practical insights. The role also drives improvements to research methods, reporting and systems to strengthen how event outcomes are measured and reported.

About you

We are looking for an experienced research, insights or analytics professional who can combine strong analytical skills with people leadership. You can work with complex information, identify trends and provide clear insights that help others make informed decisions.

You have experience leading teams, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work. You are confident using research methods, analysing data and presenting findings in a way that is easy for different audiences to understand.

You build strong relationships, work well with internal and external stakeholders and look for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. Experience in events, tourism, marketing, research or a related field, along with relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, will be highly regarded.
