Full Job Description

My client is a Perth-based modular building company specialising in high-quality, customised modular homes and buildings.

From their manufacturing facility in Bibra Lake, we work with clients from initial concept and design through to manufacture and delivery.

As the business continues to develop, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced sales professionals who can help generate, manage and convert new opportunities.

This role would particularly suit someone from new-home sales, residential construction, modular buildings, property or another high-value consultative sales environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a salesperson who enjoys taking a customer from:

initial enquiry → consultation → solution → proposal → commitment.

This is more than a traditional Business Development Manager position. The successful person will combine proactive business development with the consultative selling skills required to guide customers through a significant purchasing decision.

You will work closely with management, estimating, drafting and production to convert qualified enquiries into genuine projects.

Key Responsibilities

The role is expected to include:

Responding to and qualifying inbound sales enquiries;
Generating new customer opportunities;
Conducting consultations with prospective customers;
Understanding customer requirements, budget, intended use and project objectives;
Explaining Vikal Modular's products, capabilities and building process;
Conducting customer appointments and factory consultations;
Following up enquiries, quotations and proposals;
Converting qualified opportunities into committed projects;
Maintaining relationships with longer-term prospects;
Building referral and industry relationships;
Identifying opportunities with investors, developers and repeat customers;
Maintaining an organised sales pipeline and CRM;
Coordinating with drafting, estimating, manufacturing and management;
Reporting on enquiries, pipeline value, conversion rates and sales performance; and
Achieving agreed revenue and gross-profit objectives.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates from backgrounds including:

New-home sales;
Project-home sales;
Residential construction;
Modular or transportable homes;
Granny flats;
Property sales;
Building products;
Property development;
High-value consultative sales; or
Other commission-driven sales environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

A demonstrated ability to convert enquiries into sales;
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
Confidence discussing high-value purchases with customers;
Strong follow-up discipline;
Commercial awareness;
Ability to manage a longer sales cycle;
Good organisational and pipeline-management skills;
A proactive approach to generating opportunities;
Confidence working with technical, estimating and design teams; and
A strong results-driven mindset.

Experience within the residential building industry would be highly regarded, although it is not essential for an exceptional salesperson.

Remuneration

We want the remuneration structure to reward performance.

Depending on the candidate, the opportunity may be structured as:

Base salary + superannuation + uncapped commission; or
Contractor retainer + uncapped commission.

The successful candidate will have genuine earning upside linked to the profitable sales they generate.
