Full Job Description

Remuneration: $42.82 to $52.27 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Perth Office & South Lake Office
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:36pm, Thursdays 11:30am – 7:36pm)

The Position

We are seeking an individual with a strong passion and drive to engage and provide counselling, workshops and support groups for young people, adults and families. Support Services will be provided to adults and young people on an individual basis as well as in a group setting. The successful candidates will provide a positive representation of the Helping Minds brand while establishing and fostering close working links with relevant service providers in the areas.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Provide a counselling service to young people (0-18) at risk of developing mental health issues and adult carers, including Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) carers.
Employ both a brief intervention model for working with clients as well as therapeutic interventions where appropriate for the support Helping Minds offers;
Establish self-help Support Groups for Carers and provide support to the group once it is established;
Develop wellbeing care plans with clients and utilising a strengths-based approach, discuss the issues and impact of mental health and apply goal setting and identifying support networks;

About You

Minimum qualifications:

Tertiary Degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
Current Drivers License
Proof of Australian Working Rights

You will also either have or be willing to obtain the following:

National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
Working with Children Card
Current First Aid Certificate
