About Us:

M&H Fresh Co Pty Ltd is a soil-based farming enterprise proudly based in Adelaide, South Australia, dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture through high-quality soil management and traditional in-ground cultivation in a healthy, natural growing environment. Our experienced team monitors every crop daily, maintaining rigorous quality and health checks throughout the growing process. Guided by a passion for freshness and sustainability, we deliver nutrient-dense produce to communities across South Australia, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Primary Products Assurance and Inspection Officer to support our quality assurance and food safety operations. This role is responsible for inspecting fresh produce, conducting sampling and testing, monitoring quality assurance systems, and ensuring compliance with food safety, biosecurity and industry standards throughout growing, storage, packing and transport operations.

Role Responsibilities:

· Inspect vegetables, fruits and other agricultural produce to identify quality issues, defects, contamination, pests or diseases, and provide recommendations to management.

· Develop, implement, monitor and audit quality assurance procedures across produce handling, storage, packing and transport operations to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

· Conduct quality inspections, sampling and testing of produce to assess freshness, size, grading, hygiene and quality in accordance with company and industry standards.

· Monitor hygiene, food safety and handling practices throughout growing, harvesting, storage, packing and transport operations.

· Provide technical advice and recommendations to management on product quality improvement, disease prevention, quality control measures and operational efficiency.

· Advise on the identification and management of pests, diseases and quality issues affecting fresh produce.

· Assist in maintaining compliance with food safety, biosecurity and relevant regulatory requirements.

· Prepare quality inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, sampling, testing results and corrective actions.

· Work collaboratively with growers, suppliers, warehouse staff and management to improve product quality, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

· A Diploma, Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, Food Science, Quality Assurance or a related discipline.

· At least 3 years' experience in quality assurance, quality inspection, agricultural production, fresh produce, food processing or a related environment.

· Sound knowledge of quality assurance systems, food safety, hygiene and relevant industry standards.

· Experience conducting product inspections, sampling, quality testing and maintaining inspection and compliance records.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with production staff and management.

· A proactive approach to continuous improvement, workplace health and safety, and maintaining compliance with relevant industry standards.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
