About The Role

As a Rear Loader Driver, you will be part of an operational team responsible for the reliable delivery of waste and recycling services across the Shire. You’ll work on a rotating roster across a 7‑day spread from Monday to Sunday, commencing from 4:00am, as part of a 9‑day fortnight.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include operating rear loader waste vehicles in a safe and compliant manner, completing pre-start checks, assisting with collection activities, and undertaking basic vehicle care and maintenance. The work is hands-on and physically active, and your contribution will have a direct impact on the cleanliness and presentation of the Shire.

Who We're Looking For

You’re a reliable and safety‑focused professional who understands the value of essential community services and takes pride in your work.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

A current HR Class driver licence (essential)
Experience in waste services or a similar driving/operations role
Physical fitness to manage manual handling and outdoor work
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Basic data entry and mobile device skills
Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law
Familiarity with Sutherland Shire streets and suburbs (advantageous)

Hours of work: Permanent Full-time 38 hours per week 9-day fortnight
