About the Role
The Account Manager – VIC/NSW is responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with customers while driving sustainable business growth across Victoria and New South Wales. The role manages a portfolio of key accounts, identifies opportunities to expand existing customer relationships, and actively pursues new business opportunities for Cann's medicinal cannabis products and services.
Working closely with healthcare providers, customers and key stakeholders, the Account Manager develops trusted partnerships and delivers commercially focused solutions that support customer needs and business objectives. The role works collaboratively with the Account Manager – QLD to ensure a consistent national approach to customer engagement, share market insights and best practices, and support opportunities that span multiple states or national accounts.
Acting as the primary liaison between customers and Cann's cross-functional teams, the Account Manager ensures the timely and effective delivery of products and services, while contributing to customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, relationship management skills, initiative, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across the broader commercial team.
This role reports to the VP Products & Commercial Strategy and may be based in either Melbourne or Sydney, with flexibility to work remotely.
As an Account Manager - VIC/NSW, you will
Develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors, and strategic partners to support customer satisfaction and business growth.
Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and delivering a high standard of customer service and account management.
Develop and implement strategic account plans to strengthen existing customer relationships, increase market penetration, and identify new commercial opportunities.
Drive awareness, adoption, and demand for Cann's medicinal cannabis products through customer engagement, education, and the provision of clinical and market insights.
Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities within the assigned territory to achieve sales and growth objectives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer solutions and ensure timely, effective execution of business initiatives.
Represent Cann professionally at customer meetings, industry conferences, educational events, and other stakeholder engagements, enhancing the company's profile and market presence.
Negotiate commercial agreements within delegated authority and ensure contractual commitments and customer expectations are effectively managed.
Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system, prepare sales forecasts and activity reports, and provide market intelligence and customer insights to support commercial decision-making and business strategy.
About you
Qualifications / Licences
- Tertiary Qualification in Commercial/Business/Marketing or related field.
- Pre-employment Security and Health screening.
Experience /
- At least 3 years of proven experience and achievement in a similar role within a demanding industry environment.
- Prior experience in the Cannabis industry or a related field involving Schedule 8 (S8) or specialised medical products.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing strong customer relationships, with tenacity and resilience to excel in a competitive market.
- Background in healthcare, especially in launching new products; experience in a similar role is highly valued.
- Proficient in customer analysis with a track record of translating insights into effective strategies.
- Extensive experience in business development and customer negotiations.
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on relationship management and exceptional customer service.
