Who we are looking for
The Hospital Sales Representative is a key member of the Chiesi Australia (Company) Respiratory Business Unit. The successful Hospital Sales Representative will provide high-quality key account management to targeted Specialists by driving long-term sustainable relationships through quality use of medicines, and, achieve agreed sales targets within an assigned expense budget.
This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. This role requires an ambitious and pro-active person who will maximise opportunities and ultimately support solid patient outcomes. You will be supported by an aligned cross-functional team seeking innovative solutions to connecting with our customers.
The candidate must be capable to decipher and translate clinical and scientific data related to our products. In addition, the candidate must have a broad understanding of the therapeutic landscape for which the Company’s products occupy. This role requires a strong and effective communicator, who is well versed in the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and has a proven track record working in a similar role.
The candidate must be a trusted individual with high attention to detail and with a passion for compliance. It is essential that the candidate can work collaboratively in a team environment.
- To promote to targeted Specialists as per the defined and communicated key selling messages.
- To act as a conduit of information from the external environment to the Respiratory cross-functional team.
- To communicate effectively with colleagues for the purpose of collaboration, information sharing, and, alignment.
- Interact responsibly and within Medicines Australia (MA) guidelines with targeted Specialists and other key stakeholders.
- Respond to customer requests for scientific and medical information in a comprehensive, timely, and, customer focused manner.
- To be actively involved by supporting relevant hospital meetings.
- Report activities and relevant data through CRM system.
- Organise local educational events and contribute to state and national events and congresses if needed.
- To achieve agreed sales targets within an assigned expense budget
- To achieve agreed SFE targets for the allocated territory by targeting relevant Specialists
- To drive long term sustainable relationships for Chiesi Australia through quality use of medicines
- To understand key hospitals, state structure and formulary submission processes
- To provide tailored value propositions to Specialists that are mutually beneficial to Chiesi Australia and drive growth of the product portfolio
- Report all Adverse Events to Pharmacovigilance within 24 hours
- Live and uphold Chiesi Customer Experience/centric principles
- Live and uphold the Chiesi Values and Behaviours
- Other duties as required by the business
- A degree in Health Science (Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy) or Life-sciences with post-graduate qualifications (Honours, Masters or PhD).
- Completed and proficient in the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.
- Strong understanding and experience within the pharmaceutical industry. At least 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience; ideally in relevant therapeutic areas (Respiratory) and including customer-facing experience.
- Project management skills essential: identify priorities; plan and organise activities; monitor progress to ensure team and individual objectives are met; and, strong individual budget management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in English.
- High attention to detail and compliance.
- Express and communicate ideas clearly within the sales team and the company. Ability to communicate complex issues and data to wide range of professional and lay audiences, adapting message and style to suit.
- Flexible and positive attitude organised with high levels of project management and planning.
