About the Role
As Head of Faculty – Geography, you will:
- Lead a passionate team delivering rich and engaging Geography programs across all year levels
- Drive innovative, inquiry-based teaching practices that bring real-world issues to life
- Champion curriculum excellence aligned with the frameworks of NESA and the International Baccalaureate, alongside contemporary global perspectives
- Foster a culture of professional learning, collaboration, and reflective practice within the Faculty
- Promote fieldwork, data analysis and critical thinking as key components of geographical learning
- Contribute to the School’s broader academic strategy and leadership community
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring students develop a deep understanding of sustainability, global challenges, and spatial thinking, preparing them to be informed and responsible global citizens.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a leader who:
- Demonstrates expertise in teaching Geography to Stage 6
- Demonstrates deep understanding of the new NESA syllabi and principles of curriculum reform
- Has proven experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of innovative, rigorous curriculum aligned with NESA requirements and the International Baccalaureate framework alongside contemporary global perspectives
- Has proven experience in managing and leading teams
- Is committed to developing students’ analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Shows a passion for professional growth and mentoring others
- Brings energy, vision, and a collaborative leadership style

The role will be offered as an ongoing teaching role with an initial 3 year fixed-term leadership contract. The role attracts the relevant teaching salary depending on accreditation level (between $99,803 - $140,989) and a Leadership Level 2 Allowance.
