Sydney Creative is looking for a passionate and confident Creative Workshop Instructor to join our team!

We are specifically seeking someone who already has experience making cold-process soap and can confidently run our soap making workshops. Training will be provided on the structure and flow of the class itself, however, applicants must already have a strong understanding of the soap making process, including working with lye, troubleshooting common issues, and answering participant questions throughout the session.

This role is best suited to someone who is experienced, independent, and comfortable stepping into the studio to confidently run classes with minimal supervision.

About the Role:

As a Soap Making Workshop Instructor, you’ll be responsible for leading fun, engaging, and hands-on cold-process soap making workshops at our Redfern studio. You’ll guide participants through the soap making process in a friendly, welcoming, and safety-conscious environment, helping beginners feel comfortable and confident throughout the session.

This role is ideal for someone who already has experience making cold-process soap and is looking for a casual position for some extra income.

Our soap making classes primarily run on the weekends, Saturdays and Sundays. However, we do sometimes run them in the evenings during the week too. Please ensure evening and weekend work suit your current lifestyle before applying.

Key Responsibilities:

Run cold-process soap making workshops with confidence, professionalism and great energy
Comfortably speak in front of groups, guiding participants through the soap making process step-by-step
Answer participant questions and troubleshoot confidently throughout the session
Prepare materials and ensure the studio is set up correctly before classes
Maintain a safe and organised workspace, particularly when working with lye
Run private events including hens parties, birthdays and team building workshops
Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants
Build rapport with participants and help create a fun and memorable experience
Assist with stock organisation and maintaining a clean and tidy studio space

About You:

Experienced in cold-process soap making with a strong understanding of oils, lye safety, fragrance usage and troubleshooting common soap issues
Comfortable leading large groups and speaking confidently in front of a room
Friendly, approachable and patient with beginners
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
Comfortable working evening and weekend shifts
A confident and engaging person who enjoys creating memorable customer experiences
