Scent Society Australia is a growing Gold Coast home fragrance brand specialising in premium candles, diffusers and fragrance products.
As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for someone to help us develop the wholesale side of Scent Society Australia, with an initial focus on getting our products into more great stores and businesses across the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
We already have some fantastic wholesale partnerships and know there is a much bigger opportunity for Scent Society Australia locally. As a growing small business, we simply don't have enough hours in the week to properly pursue it!
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of finding new wholesale opportunities, building our prospective stockist database and introducing Scent Society Australia to local businesses that are a great fit for our brand.
This is a flexible contractor role of approximately 5 hours per week initially, working directly with the owner.
What you'll be doing
A major part of this role will be building and maintaining our wholesale database from the ground up.
You'll be responsible for:
- Researching and identifying potential new stockists across the Gold Coast and surrounding areas
- Building an organised database of prospective wholesale customers in whatever simple, effective format works best
- Finding relevant contact details and identifying the right person to speak with where possible
- Seeking opportunities across gift stores, homewares, boutiques, florists, lifestyle stores, salons, spas, wellness businesses, Pilates and yoga studios, hotels, accommodation providers and other suitable businesses
- Reaching out to prospective stockists and introducing Scent Society Australia
- Following up potential stockists and keeping track of each opportunity
- Recording contacts, conversations, responses and follow-up dates so opportunities don't get lost
- Helping us develop and maintain our wholesale catalogue and other supporting sales material
- Coordinating wholesale enquiries and sample requests
- Identifying other local opportunities, partnerships or businesses that could be a great fit for Scent Society
We care much more about quality than quantity. We're not looking for a huge spreadsheet of random businesses - we want someone who can identify places where Scent Society Australia would genuinely be a good fit.
Who we're looking for
We'd love someone who is proactive, organised, confident communicating with businesses and genuinely good at finding opportunities.
Experience in wholesale, sales, business development, retail, account management or lead generation would be highly regarded.
Knowledge of the Gold Coast and local business/retail landscape would be a big advantage.
You'll need to be comfortable working independently. We don't want to provide you with a list of businesses every week - we're looking for someone who can research the local market, find opportunities, make contact and keep things moving.
We'll provide plenty of direction around Scent Society Australia, our products and the types of businesses we're looking for. From there, we'd love you to take some ownership of growing our wholesale presence.

- $40 per hour (invoiced fortnightly at $400)
