We’re seeking a Senior Geotechnician with at least 10 years' of earthworks supervision experience to join our Brisbane-based Geotechnical & Tunnels team and contribute to some of Australia’s most interesting and technically challenging projects. As a Senior Geotechnician you will:

Oversee and provide site supervision for construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to quality control and assurance standards. The role is mainly a site-based role across multiple sites.
Undertake site activities including earthworks supervision (Level 1), supervise labour, equipment, and materials, and maintain rigorous safety and quality records.
Collaborate with project teams, communicate progress to managers, and contribute to project success.
Comply with role specific SHEQ obligations.
Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff within the team.
Foster an engaged and high performing workforce, with a focus on mentoring, training, and development.
Work collaboratively with colleagues from all parts of the WSP business.
Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, business system, quality and risk management obligations.
Provide input on multiple projects of varying complexity and size.

What you’ll bring:

Typically, 10 to 15 years’ experience with a background in laboratory testing and earthworks supervision. Your knowledge will be leveraged to mentor and teach junior engineers in construction activities
Experience in medium to large civil infrastructure construction, with a focus on Quality Control and Assurance.
Experience in Level 1 (GITA) and 2 (GTA) earthworks supervision as per AS 3798 requirements.
Experience in earthworks testing and compaction.
Familiar with in situ testing equipment including DCPs, with PANDA testing knowledge preferable.
Previous geotechnical instrumentation experience will be well-regarded but is not essential.
Strong team player with excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
Commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and a high level of attention to detail. Experience in earthworks and liner installation (desirable).
Drivers' licence (4WD) and willingness to travel to assignments.
