Your opportunity
As a Multi-Skilled Plant Operator at Quilpie Shire Council, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the roads that connect our vibrant community.
Reporting to the Structures and Concrete Supervisor, you will ensure the safe and efficient operations of plant and equipment on a vital construction and maintenance projects across our region.
With integrity and pride, you will:
Perform road maintenance, road construction, structures, concrete and miscellaneous operations in the most effective and efficient manner

Ensure plant operation is consistent with manufacture’s specifications;-
Undertake maintenance works as per the daily plant check sheets- ;
Ensure that all plant and equipment including council vehicle under control of the operator, are maintained appropriately, and that any defects are recorded and promptly notified to the workshop- ;
Ensure correct and adequate roadworks signage is installed and maintained- ;
Ensure work records, timesheets, plant sheets and plant check sheets are accurately completed on a daily basis; an- d
Participate as a member of Council’s multi-skilled workforce and undertake other duties including labouring as required by operational activities or as directed by the Structures and Concrete Supervisor or Director of Engineering Services- .

To thrive in this role, you will have:
Current Queensland ‘HR’ Class Driver’s Licence
- ;
Competencies for a Skid Steer and Backhoe;-
Current General Construction Induction Card; and-
Ability to operate plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner- ;
Up to date knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques and approaches; an- d
Sufficient skills to maintain plant and equipment in good condition- .
Although it’s not essential, it would be great if you had:
Relevant Plant Operator certificates of competency
- ;
Current Queensland ‘HC’ Class Driver’s Licence- ;
Experience in concrete works including batching- :
Recent relevant experience in the safe and efficient use of all plant on Road Construction and Maintenance projects; an- d
Competency in Traffic Management Implementation;
