About The Project
The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) Project will double the number of rail tracks and upgrade stations for a 20-kilometre section of the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines between Kuraby, a suburb south of Brisbane’s CBD, and Beenleigh, a suburb of Logan City.
Key elements of the project scope include:
-
Doubling the rail tracks from two to four between Kuraby and Beenleigh, including all civil works and civil structures, equalling reconstruction of more than half the existing alignment
-
Modern and accessible station upgrades, including improved park ‘n’ ride facilities
-
Level crossing removals at Woodridge, Bethania, Holmview and Beenleigh· Changes to the local road network and improved walking and cycling connections to stations;
-
Upgrading rail systems and conventional signalling and enabling works for a European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 signalling system; and
-
Decommissioning of the existing Loganlea Station and tie-in of new track alignment to the new Loganlea Station (station constructed as part of a separate project).
