About the role

As our next Field Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Fitter to proudly represent our Maintenance Team on a 14/7 roster out at our Gruyere Project, you will live for challenges and thrive on the variety of work available. Like all of us at Thiess, you’re a passionate and energetic person, that appreciates responsibility, recognition and reward.

In this role, you will:

Work a 14/7 Roster, 7 Days and 7 Nights, 12 hours shifts
Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet including CAT 6060 Shovel, Sandvik DR410i, DI650i, DP 1500 / 1600 drills, Komatsu PC1250, Liebherr 9600/9400/9200 excavators and other equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation
Completing general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs to a high standard
Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer bases systems
Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards
Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or equivalent
Possess a positive leadership style, with exceptional time-management skills and the ability to pivot around priorities while providing guidance, assistance, and supervision to the maintenance team
Minimum of 2 years post trade experience in mining or Heavy Earth Moving induction
Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and servicing of CAT, Liebherr and Komatsu Diggers, Dozers and Sandvik Drills
Experience in vehicle air conditioning systems (desirable)
HR drivers licence (desirable)
Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
