About the role:

Rombola Family Farms is seeking passionate and driven Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Griffith NSW. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will report to the Workshop Foreman and play a crucial role in ensuring that farm machinery is running smoothly and efficiently. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs. You should be able to work independently and be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.

Key operational accountabilities include:

Conducting regular maintenance checks on all farm machinery.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
Repairing and replacing faulty parts.
Performing routine servicing and oil changes.
Carry out tyre fitting, inspection, repair, and replacement on heavy diesel machinery and fleet vehicles, including fault identification and ensuring all work meets safety and operational requirements.
Ensuring all machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

Experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with farm machinery.
A strong understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to working with heavy machinery.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
A willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods.
