Metro Tasmania is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance of our Hobart-based fleet on a Full Time 12-month contract.

Based at our Hobart workshop, you will be responsible for servicing our fleet of buses to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
- Performing breakdown repairs as required.
- Completing inspections and maintenance documentation.
- Ensuring vehicles meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Working independently while contributing to fleet reliability.
This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to apply your expertise in a practical, well-supported environment.
You will bring:
- Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy vehicles.
- Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Reliable and professional approach.
