What You'll Be Doing

As a Ward Administration Officer with the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the acute ward at Wallaroo Hospital. Working as part of a collaborative administration team, you will help maintain accurate patient information, support clinical workflows, and ensure a positive experience for patients, visitors and staff.

Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharge documentation accurately and promptly
Coordinating appointment scheduling and maintaining up-to-date patient records in clinical systems
Serving as a first point of contact for patients, families, and ward staff, directing enquiries appropriately
Supporting the ward team with general administrative tasks to keep daily operations running smoothly

What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a health or community services setting
Competence with patient information systems or the ability to quickly learn SA Health's clinical platforms
Strong attention to detail in managing confidential patient records and documentation
Clear and professional communication skills when working with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams
The ability to manage competing priorities calmly in a hospital environment
Eligibility to work within SA Health, including satisfactory background screening
