What You'll Be Doing
As a Ward Administration Officer with the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the acute ward at Wallaroo Hospital. Working as part of a collaborative administration team, you will help maintain accurate patient information, support clinical workflows, and ensure a positive experience for patients, visitors and staff.
- Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharge documentation accurately and promptly
- Coordinating appointment scheduling and maintaining up-to-date patient records in clinical systems
- Serving as a first point of contact for patients, families, and ward staff, directing enquiries appropriately
- Supporting the ward team with general administrative tasks to keep daily operations running smoothly
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a health or community services setting
- Competence with patient information systems or the ability to quickly learn SA Health's clinical platforms
- Strong attention to detail in managing confidential patient records and documentation
- Clear and professional communication skills when working with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams
- The ability to manage competing priorities calmly in a hospital environment
- Eligibility to work within SA Health, including satisfactory background screening
