About the role:

The Assistant Production Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing daily production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role involves leading and mentoring a team of production staff to achieve operational excellence whilst ensuring the effective implementation of health, safety, food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

The role will be for our Afternoon Shift: Tuesday to Saturday from 2pm till 10pm.

Key Responsibilities but not limited too:

Lead, train, and manage a team of production staff.
Monitor performance, manage rosters, timesheets, overtime, and address behavior issues.
Conduct daily toolbox talks, oversee production volume, and ensure staff sign-off.
Ensure health, safety, food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are met, and report defects for improvement.
Oversee waste management, giveaway reports, and manage production costs through continuous improvement.
Document and implement standard operating procedures and conduct studies to improve efficiency.
Track production line performance, maintain GMP principles, and ensure end-of-day cleaning.
Assign tasks based on specialisation, set production objectives, and implement action plans to achieve targets.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment in the FMCG industry.
Strong understanding of food processing/manufacturing environments, HACCP, OH&S, and good manufacturing practices.
Proven experience leading high-performing teams and managing process improvement.
Excellent communication, internal consulting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Familiarity with warehouse systems for managing stock of raw materials and consumables.
High accuracy in completing tasks and managing time effectively.
