Full Job Description

Early Years Academy is a professional Early Childhood Education and Care provider delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. The organisation operates within the National Quality Framework (NQF) and delivers programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), with a strong focus on children’s holistic development, family engagement, and inclusive practice.

We are currently seeking a full-time Early Childhood Educator to join our growing team in Thurgoona, NSW.

Position: Early Childhood Educator
Work Type: Full-time
Location: 1 Ava Ave, Thurgoona NSW 2640
Salary: AUD $75,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation

Role Overview
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for supporting the education, care, wellbeing, and development of children within a structured early learning environment. The role involves implementing play-based learning experiences, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and contributing to the daily operations of the centre in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate learning experiences in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Observe, document, and evaluate children’s learning and development
Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through play-based learning
Maintain a safe, healthy, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, routines, and transitions
Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Assist with implementing behaviour guidance strategies and inclusive practices
Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to children’s learning and daily activities
Support compliance with the National Quality Standard (NQS), centre policies, and workplace procedures
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and continuous improvement activities
Assist with room preparation, educational resources, and daily centre operations

Skills and Experience Required

Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment
Ability to support children from diverse cultural and developmental backgrounds
Strong organisational and time management skills
Previous experience in long day care or early childhood education settings preferred

Qualification Requirements

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates
