Full Job Description

About our School:

Tully is a town on the east coast of North Queensland, located at the foothills of Mt. Tyson. Sugar cane and bananas are the dominant crops grown. Early in 1924 requests made to the Department of Public Instruction resulted in the opening of the Banyan Provisional School in June 1924. In 1925 the name was changed from Banyan to Tully State School, after the township which was named Tully in honour of past Surveyor General, William Adcock Tully. In March 1934 approval was given for a rural school building be built and this was officially opened in March 1935. The building was deliberately burnt down in November 1935. The existing brick building was built 1938 and heritage listed in 1994.

About the Role:

Contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing relevant and timely administrative support to the Principal and Business Manager. You will work within existing guidelines to provide basic resolution of problems by reference to established procedure, consulting the Principal or Business Manager for matters that are more complex or non-routine.

Strong administration and computer skills, including experience with financial and record-keeping processes.
A collaborative and proactive approach to supporting school operations.

Responsibilities:

Provide front office reception and customer service support to students, parents, staff, and community members.
Assist with student enrolments, attendance records, school correspondence, and general administration.
Support financial administration, including receipting, banking, processing invoices, payments, and maintaining records in OneSchool.
Provide executive support through diary management, appointment scheduling, meeting coordination, and document preparation.
Assist with facilities administration, school maintenance coordination, stocktakes, and community facility bookings.
Maintain accurate records, databases, and reporting systems.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders while providing professional and empathetic support.
