About the role:
As a Ranger, you will play a key role in the on-ground management of Parks Victoria's parks and reserves, helping to protect natural and cultural values while delivering high-quality visitor experiences. Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to a diverse range of activities including conservation programs, maintenance of park assets such as tracks and visitor facilities, and supporting safe and accessible public use of open spaces.
You will apply your skills and experience in areas such as plant identification, weed control, and land management, while also assisting with basic asset repairs and infrastructure upkeep. The role involves safely operating tools and equipment, contributing to environmental and conservation outcomes, and supporting the delivery of projects aligned to Parks Victoria priorities.

We're looking for someone with:

Relevant qualifications in Environmental Science, Conservation and Land Management, Community Engagement or a related trade

Experience in on-ground park or open space management, including conservation or maintenance activities

Skills in plant identification, weed spraying and applying conservation principles

Experience undertaking basic asset maintenance and repairs

Understanding of safe work practices and commitment to workplace safety

Experience operating minor plant and equipment such as brush cutters, chainsaws or power tools (desirable)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with the public and community groups
