The role of the Facilities Officer position include but is not limited to:
- Work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students and parents
- Ensure that the school's buildings and grounds are well maintained and presented and that all work undertaken complies with statutory obligations and Department Standards
- Take a hands on role in performing daily maintenance tasks whenever required which will include emergency maintenance, cleaning and deliveries.
- Respond to service requests for breakdowns and repairs.
- Identify, report and advise on major furniture, fixture and equipment renewal needs across the school
- Ensure that the physical environment of the school, its buildings, grounds and resources are maintained in an excellent condition including identification of safety hazards
- Carry out projects intended to enhance the school's facilities
- Ensure that broken and/or damaged equipment at the school (in classrooms and storerooms) is repaired or if appropriate disposed of.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the work area within the regular direction of senior management.
- Undertake other duties relevant to the field of responsibility as requested by the Business Manager or Principal and provide them with advice as required
- Carry out routine maintenance of the grounds within the school environment
- Ensure maintenance equipment is maintained in good working order and notify the Business Manager of any repairs required or faulty equipment.
- In conjunction with the Business Manager to coordinate the movement of furniture
The responsibilities of the Facilities Officer position include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and improving the school grounds, facilities and buildings
- Undertaking regular routine inspections and identifying issues requiring maintenance.
- Undertaking routine repairs, cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.
- Work with contractors who attend onsite.
- Undertaking small building projects and painting as required.
- Repairing /maintaining furniture as required.
- Liaising with the Business Manager on a regular basis.
- Supporting staff in relocating furniture and equipment.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are in a serviceable condition and report any faults to the Business Manager
- Ensure that the maintenance sheds/storage areas are always clean and orderly in accordance with OH&S principles
- Carpentry, plumbing and brickwork repairs as determined within skill capacity
- Identify, report, and where appropriate, action risks/hazards in order to eliminate or mitigate against the risk recurring (Risks arising in the workplace may be financial, site, task, or person specific or related to safety.)

A focus on Digital Learning, The Arts (Visual and Music/Performing), and Physical Education will be integral to the additional learning provided for our students. Students have access to the latest technologies; including iPads.

Learning Spaces
The school includes an administration building, two learning neighbourhoods, portable spaces, a gymnasium complex, outdoor courts and sports fields. Inside the administration building houses a large library, first aid facilities, visual arts space, space for science/ technology and food technology space.
The gymnasium complex includes a stadium quality basketball/ netball sized gymnasium with tiered seating, an outstanding music facility which doubles as a stage for the gymnasium. There is also a canteen and change room facilities and an extensive foyer. These facilities are utilised for community usage including a shared arrangement with local sporting clubs and community groups to ensure sport can be accessed onsite after school.
The extensive outdoor spaces include hard courts, full sized grassed football oval, outdoor stage, nature play with a dry creek bed, agility playground and an extensive carpark.
