Full Job Description

AUSCO Truck Bodies is currently seeking an experienced and trade qualified First Class Welder to join our growing fabrication and manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based in Victoria, working within a commercial workshop environment focused on high-quality fabrication, structural steel and metalwork on truck body assembly and production.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual who takes pride in workmanship, safety and attention to detail and is ready for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications
Perform MIG, TIG and arc welding on a variety of steel and metal components
Fabricate, assemble and repair structural steel and metal products
Carry out cutting, grinding, shaping and fitting of fabricated components
Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet required specifications
Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organised work environment
Work collaboratively with workshop supervisors and production staff to meet deadlines

Skills & Experience

Relevant trade qualification in Welding / Fabrication or equivalent
Minimum 2 years relevant post-qualification experience as a Welder
Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication methods and workshop safety
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
Experience working with structural steel and heavy fabrication preferred
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively within a team
