Head Chef – Full-Time

Freddie's Ascot – Ascot, QLD

Freddie's Ascot is a thriving neighbourhood café that has proudly served the Ascot and surrounding community since 2021. We are committed to delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service, and a welcoming dining experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all kitchen operations to ensure efficient, high-quality food service delivery.
Design, plan, and implement seasonal menus and daily specials in line with business requirements and customer expectations.
Supervise the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to ensure consistent quality and portion standards.
Manage food procurement, supplier relationships, stock rotation, and inventory control systems.
Monitor food costs, manage kitchen budgets, and implement strategies to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including rostering, performance management, and workflow coordination.
Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant commercial kitchen environment at all times.
Collaborate with management to develop menu concepts, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction and business performance.

Essential Requirements

A qualification in a relevant field (Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or equivalent) is compulsory.
Previous relevant experience as a Head Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen leadership role is compulsory.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
Sound knowledge of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations.
