Restaurant Venner is a Neo-Nordic fine dining restaurant in West End offering set menu dining from Wednesday to Sunday.
We are searching for a Head Chef to take the restaurant forward having established ourselves as a top venue in our first six months of trading.
Our ethos is centred on Nordic principles of preservation, fermentation and utilising off-cuts, waste and whole animals. The chosen candidates will have considerable experience with these techniques as well as an understanding of Nordic cuisine.
We are searching for a Head Chef who can not only manage and lead a small kitchen team with positivity, initiative and flair, but also impart their creativity and own personality on our menu.
Weekly hours are to be strictly kept to 40 for all full-time staff and the chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring this is the case. They will be required to train junior staff, including an Apprentice, and must also liaise with our Executive Chef to ensure we continue to stay within the boundaries of our concept.
The opportunity to organise events and collaborations with other restaurants, farms and chefs will be available and the Head Chef will play a crucial role in manufacturing and executing such events.
Salary range is $85,000 to $95,000 dependent on the candidate's experience and skill. A 50% discount is available at Venner, as well as Milquetoast in the CBD, and tips are split equally.
We are looking for a Head Chef to come on board before the end of July.
