Make a real impact supporting children and families
Specialist role in trauma-informed care and recovery
Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary service

Deliver trauma-informed counselling, build safety plans and support recovery for children and families impacted by domestic violence.

- Counsellor & Social Worker Level 3: $116,892 - $120,680 per annum

- Psychologist: $80,452 - $117,755 per annum

Location: Blacktown - Community Health Centre

Where you'll be working
You will join the Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) based at Blacktown Community Health Centre. This specialist service provides leadership and support across domestic violence, sexual assault and child protection, with a strong focus on safety, recovery and culturally responsive care.

Work within a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team

Collaborate with key agencies including health, police and community services

What you'll be doing
In this rewarding role, you will provide specialist counselling and case management support to children, young people and families impacted by domestic and family violence, promoting safety, healing and resilience.

Conduct comprehensive assessments for children, young people and families

Deliver trauma-informed counselling, psychoeducation and safety planning

Develop and manage therapeutic case plans in partnership with services

Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies for integrated care

Provide advocacy, consultation and contribute to interagency case reviews

Essential Criteria:

License: Current NSW Driver’s License.

Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.

Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor degree) in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling or Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

2. Demonstrated counselling experience in complex trauma and trauma informed practice within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect setting (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence services).

3. Demonstrated high level assessment, case formulation, intervention planning (including case management and safety planning) and counselling skills with children, young people and adults, with capacity to draw on a wide range of therapeutic modalities.

4. Demonstrated high level understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence on non-offending parents and carers as well as current policies and legislation relating to domestic violence, child protection and other forms of interpersonal violence.

5. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in partnership with others.

6. Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds.

7. Current NSW Driver’s License.
