Purpose of the Role:
The Roster coordinator as part of the disability Services team is responsible for scheduling the service delivery of support workers to our participants by providing a range of timely and accurate administrative support and rostering services. This will be achieved by maintaining rosters within a data management system.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Ensure all participants have staff rostered to provide service in line with their Service Agreement/Schedule of Supports/Roster of Care/Master Roster
- Staff rostered have the appropriate skills, experience and training suitable to participant needs
- Provide professional, efficient and customer-focused services to internal and external customers
- Provide solution-based outcomes for staffing and resource issues
- Ensure open communication with participants or other support so that participants are aware of any changes to their support worker or time of service
- Be aware of the requirements of the relevant Awards and Agreements for staff and roster accordingly
- Ensure that the roster is available for publishing a minimum of two (2) weeks in advance and that staff are aware of their rosters
- Manage support worker leave applications in accordance with Riverlink policies and procedures
- Monitor and maintain the Workforce email inbox
- Work closely with Team Leaders and Managers in regards to new participants onboarding, and existing participant changes
- Ensure all planned leave is appropriately allocated to replacement staff
- Ensure staff contract hours are recorded and met each roster
- Be responsible for the reallocation of staff when a participant cancels a shift, within the conditions of the relevant Award
- Review data entry of all shifts for accuracy, including shift times and allowances, and correct any discrepancies prior to the roster being exported
- Participate in the on-call roster
- Review staffing levels and skillset to maintain a consistent and robust workforce
- Contribute to service development/transformation such as service planning and increased confidence and competence across the workforce
- Organise training in consultation with Workforce Coordinator and team leaders/managers
- Identify and report on service gaps
- Weekly reporting to Payroll of leave, overtime, unmet contract hours etc
- Ad Hoc duties as required by the Head of Operations.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services, disability, human services or social sciences/or equivalent experience
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Person-Centred active support
- Demonstrated communication and complaint handling skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage systems of work in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team.
- High level communication skills and exceptional organisational skills
- Critical thinker with strong analytical capabilities
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening check
- Valid Working with Children's Check (WWCC) check
- A current Australian driver’s license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure report writing, documentation and presentations are appropriate.
