Full Job Description

As an AML Business & Functions Adviser, you'll play a vital role in embedding practical, risk-based AML compliance into day-to-day business operations and decision-making across a large and diverse professional services firm. You will provide expert AML/CTF/Sanctions advisory support and guidance to the firm’s business units and support functions, enabling them to meet their regulatory obligations while continuing to grow.

What you’ll do:

Lead the provision of high-quality AML/CTF/Sanctions advisory services to business units and functions on regulatory guidance, industry practices, and risk management matters.
Own the development and maintenance of practical guidance, policies, and tools that translate regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.
Oversee the design of targeted training, awareness programs, and communications to build AML/CTF/Sanctions capability across the firm.
Deliver proactive risk-based advice and challenges on complex client or engagement matters, supporting commercial decision-making.
Build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to Partners, Business Leaders, and functional heads on AML/CTF/Sanctions.

What we’re looking for:

Extensive AML/CTF/Sanctions advisory or compliance experience (7+ years) in a professional services, consulting, or financial services environment.
Demonstrated ability to provide practical, commercially aware advice to senior stakeholders on complex AML matters.
Deep understanding of the AML/CTF Act, Sanctions Act, AUSTRAC & ASO guidance, and the 2025 AML/CTF Rules.
Strong influencing, communication, and training skills with proven experience engaging at Partner/Director level.
Desirable: Direct experience within a professional services firm and relevant professional qualifications such as CAMS or ICA Diploma in AML/CTF.
