Senior Program Reporting Analyst (Fixed Term) – Sydney, Australia
Reporting to the Senior Manager, AML Compliance, the Senior Program Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting program reporting and analytics initiatives.
An opportunity to join Western Union’s Compliance Team on a full-time basis for a 24-month period.
Lead, coordinate, and participate in multiple concurrent regulatory related reporting projects simultaneously, including research, analysis, documentation, design/develop testing, problem resolution, training, status reporting, implementation, and post-rollout review/audit.
Source, evaluate, and synthesise complex information from multiple structured and unstructured sources, including data sets, regulatory publications, policies, procedures, operational documentation and stakeholder interviews to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
Prepare executive quality dashboards, reporting, presentations, and comms that translates complex information into clear and practical messages; present same to a broader business audience as required
Proven Analytical Expertise – 4+ years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial/operational reporting within a corporate, banking, fintech, or consulting environment.
Advanced Data Skills – High proficiency in data extraction and transformation, plus strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros) and at least one BI/visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
Reporting Mastery – Experience designing, automating, and maintaining dashboards and reports that are accurate, timely, and tailored to diverse audiences, from operational teams to senior executives.
Insight-Driven Mindset – Ability to go beyond the numbers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and to translate findings into clear recommendations that influence business decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement – Strong communication skills to collaborate with finance, operations, compliance, and product teams, ensuring reporting outputs meet business needs.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness – Understanding relevant reporting obligations (e.g., AUSTRAC, APRA, ASIC) is highly regarded, particularly in a financial services context.
Team Contribution – Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities, define work plans, engage stakeholders, identify issues and drive outcomes with limited supervision
