As part of a significant uplift of our AML/CTF framework under the 2026 reforms, we are investing in building a strong, capability-led Financial Crime function across both operations (Line 1) and risk & compliance (Line 2).
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of AML/CTF Risk & Compliance, the Senior Manager, AML/CTF Risk & Compliance plays a critical leadership role in designing, overseeing and continuously enhancing the Club’s AML/CTF framework.
Sitting in Line 2, this role provides independent oversight and challenge to AML/CTF Operations, ensuring the program effectively identifies, assesses and mitigates ML/TF/PF risks in a complex gaming environment.
The role also acts as a designated Senior Manager under the AML/CTF Program, with accountability for the design, maintenance and delegated approval of the ML/TF/PF Risk Assessment, AML/CTF Program and all material updates, in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, maintenance and approval of the ML/TF/PF Risk Assessment, including methodologies, risk models and supporting analysis

Own the design, implementation and approval of the AML/CTF Program, ensuring alignment with legislation and AUSTRAC expectations

Translate regulatory obligations and emerging financial crime risks into practical, risk-based frameworks and controls

Develop and embed financial crime typologies, risk indicators and detection frameworks tailored to a gaming environment

Enhance transaction monitoring frameworks, including scenario development, calibration and optimisation approaches

Lead second line assurance, including control testing, QA reviews and thematic risk assessments

Provide independent oversight and challenge to AML/CTF Operations, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, escalated, managed and reported

Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on AML/CTF risk, control design and regulatory developments

Support strategic uplift initiatives, including technology implementation and program maturity improvements

Prepare Board and senior management reporting on risk exposure, control effectiveness and emerging threats

Lead AML/CTF training design to ensure a risk-based and role-specific compliance culture

Build and develop a high-performing AML/CTF Risk & Compliance team

Coordinate regulatory engagements, audits and remediation activities
About You

Significant experience in AML/CTF or Financial Crime Risk/Compliance roles, ideally in gaming or other high-risk, cash-intensive sectors

Proven experience designing and uplifting AML/CTF frameworks, risk assessments and governance structures

Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC expectations

Experience leading regulatory change, remediation or program uplift initiatives

Strong assurance mindset, with experience testing control design and operating effectiveness

Ability to interpret complex regulation and translate it into practical, operationally effective frameworks

Highly developed analytical and written communication skills, including Board-level reporting

Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders

High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications (Law, Risk, Finance, Criminology or similar) preferred

Professional certifications (e.g. CAMS or equivalent) highly regarded
