Full Job Description

We are building a casual pool of physiotherapists to work with our aged care and home care clients on mobility, strength, falls prevention and pain management — delivered where our clients live rather than in a clinic.

Being upfront about timing: this is casual pool recruitment. Our aged care application is still in progress, and services in that stream cannot commence until it is approved, so we are not able to give you a firm start date — that decision is not ours to make. Work may not begin for some months. What we are doing now is recruiting, screening and inducting people so that when approval comes through you can start promptly rather than waiting another six weeks on paperwork.

There are no guaranteed hours and no fixed roster at this stage. Joining the pool commits you to nothing, you are free to hold other work while you wait, and you can decline shifts that do not suit you. If you need guaranteed hours starting immediately, we would rather tell you now that this is not the right role for you. Some casual shifts may become available sooner through our existing NDIS services, though please do not apply on the assumption of immediate work. We will keep you posted on where the application is up to either way.

About Reachwell Support

Reachwell Support Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider delivering community and in-home supports across Western Sydney and surrounding areas. We are expanding into aged care and home care, including Support at Home and DVA community nursing. We are a small, clinically-led team — you will know the people you work with, and your work will be visible.

Pay

$58 to $72 per hour, depending on your experience. New graduates start at the lower end with a structured supervision program.

For context, the permanent full-time equivalent of that range is approximately $92,000 to $112,000 per year plus superannuation.

Travel time between clients is paid, and a kilometre allowance applies.

Hours are not guaranteed. You are offered work as it becomes available and you can decline any that does not suit you.

As a casual you are paid a loading in place of annual leave and personal leave. Superannuation of 12 per cent is paid on your earnings.

Contractor arrangements can be discussed if you have your own ABN and professional indemnity cover.

Permanent part-time or full-time appointment may follow once the service is established and referral volumes are known.

About the role

When shifts commence, you will:

Complete mobility, balance, strength and falls risk assessments in clients’ homes and in the community

Design and deliver individualised exercise and rehabilitation programs

Provide pain management, manual therapy and post-acute reconditioning

Prescribe mobility aids and provide safe transfer and gait training

Educate clients, families and support workers on safe movement and exercise progression

Deliver falls prevention and reablement programs for older clients

Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and review

Provide clinical supervision to allied health assistants

Maintain clinical documentation to the Aged Care Quality Standards and AHPRA requirements

What you will need

Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist

Demonstrated assessment and intervention skills with older adults or people with disability

Current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain

Current driver licence and comprehensively insured vehicle

Professional indemnity insurance, or eligibility for cover under Reachwell Support’s policy

Right to work in Australia

Highly regarded

Experience in aged care, community rehabilitation or reablement

Falls prevention program experience

Experience with Home Care Packages, Support at Home or DVA clients

Experience supervising allied health assistants
