About Futureview
Futureview is a Sydney-based architectural, construction and project management practice delivering residential and commercial projects with a strong focus on practical design, quality construction, clear communication and professional project control. Our work includes high-end homes, renovations, extensions, fitouts and development management from early planning through to completion.
About the Role
Futureview is seeking an experienced Licensed Builder who may also be suitable to act as the company’s Nominated Supervisor for relevant NSW residential building work.
This is a genuine supervisory and compliance-focused role. The successful candidate will support construction delivery, site supervision, workmanship control, project coordination and regulatory compliance. Where the candidate is formally appointed as Nominated Supervisor, the arrangement must satisfy NSW licensing requirements and will be structured accordingly.
The role suits a practical, commercially minded builder who can read drawings, understand site realities, manage trades, identify risks early and help the company deliver projects professionally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
· Act as Licensed Builder and, where eligible and agreed, Nominated Supervisor for the company’s relevant building work.
· Supervise residential construction work and ensure work is performed with due care, skill and appropriate workmanship standards.
· Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, engineer details, site instructions and construction methodology.
· Coordinate trades, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site activities to support efficient project delivery.
· Monitor compliance with approved plans, relevant codes, regulations, Australian Standards and NSW building requirements.
· Attend site inspections and assist with construction sequencing, quality control and practical problem-solving.
· Identify construction risks, defects, incomplete work, documentation issues and potential cost or programme impacts early.
· Liaise professionally with clients, certifiers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
· Assist with reviewing variations, RFIs, defects, progress claims, trade scopes and site records where required.
· Support Futureview’s internal project management systems, site procedures and quality assurance processes.
Suitable Candidate
· Holds a current NSW Builder Licence, Individual Contractor Licence and/or Qualified Supervisor Certificate suitable for the relevant class of residential building work.
· Is eligible, subject to NSW requirements, to be appointed as a Nominated Supervisor for a licensed company.
· Has strong practical experience in residential construction, including new homes, renovations, extensions and/or high-end residential work.
· Understands NSW residential building compliance, site supervision obligations, workmanship standards and construction documentation.
· Can read and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, engineering details and specifications confidently.
· Has a practical hands-on building mindset, not just an administrative or paperwork background.
· Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, consultants, certifiers, trades and project teams.
· Is reliable, commercially sensible, organised and able to identify site problems before they become expensive disputes.
· Has a calm, solution-focused approach to site issues, defects, delays, variations and trade coordination.
· Experience with high-end residential projects, commercial fitouts, project management or design-and-construct delivery will be highly regarded.
What We Offer
· Opportunity to work with a growing Sydney-based design, construction and project management business.
· Flexible structure for the right candidate, provided the final arrangement complies with NSW licensing requirements.
· Professional project environment involving design, construction, consultants and client-side project management.
· Varied work across residential, high-end home, renovation, fitout and development management projects.
· A practical role where building knowledge, judgement and site experience are genuinely valued.
