Advance Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction.

About the Role
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver engaging, industry-relevant training and conduct competency-based assessments for students enrolled in the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction. You will ensure training and assessment activities comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), Training Package requirements and Advance Institute Australia's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality face-to-face and/or online training sessions.
- Conduct valid, reliable and compliant competency-based assessments.
- Facilitate learning using a variety of training methods and resources.
- Provide students with constructive feedback and academic support.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment and student records.
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with ASQA and RTO requirements.
- Maintain current vocational competency and industry knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and review of learning and assessment resources.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
Training and Assessment Qualifications
- Hold one of the following (or an equivalent qualification accepted under current regulatory requirements):
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- another approved training and assessment credential.
Vocational Qualifications
- Hold CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction or a higher-level qualification in Building and Construction that demonstrates vocational competency relevant to the qualification being delivered and assessed.
Industry Experience
Applicants must have:
- A recent industry experience in the building and construction sector.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following roles:
- Builder
- Construction Supervisor
- Site Manager
- Site Supervisor
- Leading Hand
- Building Project Manager
- Current knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, legislation and construction industry practices.
- Experience planning and supervising residential and/or commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, work health and safety requirements and construction project management principles.
Additional Requirements
- Current vocational competency relevant to the qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging training to adult learners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an RTO environment.
- Commitment to maintaining professional development and industry currency.
- Current general construction induction (White Card) is highly desirable.
Desirable
- Previous experience delivering training within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems (SMS).
- Experience developing or reviewing training and assessment resources.
- Knowledge of ASQA Standards for RTOs and competency-based training and assessment.
- Experience participating in assessment validation and moderation.
