Advance Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and qualified Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess the CPC31920 Certificate III in Joinery qualification.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced joinery professional to share their industry knowledge and help develop the next generation of skilled joiners and stair builders.

About the Role
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver high-quality training and competency-based assessments for students enrolled in the CPC31920 Certificate III in Joinery.
The qualification provides trade outcomes in joinery for residential and commercial applications and prepares learners for occupations such as Joiner and Stair Builder.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom, workshop and workplace-based training.
- Conduct valid, fair and reliable competency-based assessments.
- Demonstrate practical joinery techniques and supervise hands-on training activities.
- Assess students against the requirements of the CPC31920 qualification.
- Provide constructive feedback and learner support.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment and student records.
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain current vocational competency and industry currency.
- Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), the CPC Training Package and Advance Institute Australia's policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements Training and Assessment Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following (or an equivalent qualification recognised under current regulatory requirements):
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- another approved training and assessment credential.
Vocational Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- CPC31920 Certificate III in Joinery; or
- CPC31912 Certificate III in Joinery; or
- CPC32211 Certificate III in Joinery (Stairs); or
- a higher-level qualification in Joinery, Carpentry, Building or Construction that demonstrates vocational competency relevant to the qualification being delivered and assessed.
Industry Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
- A recent industry experience in the joinery industry.
- Experience in residential and/or commercial joinery projects.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Manufacturing and assembling joinery products.
- Installing windows, doors and timber joinery.
- Stair construction and installation.
- Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
- Operating woodworking machinery, power tools and CNC equipment.
- Measuring, setting out and fabricating joinery components.
- Applying Australian Standards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Current industry skills and knowledge relevant to joinery.
Additional Requirements
- Demonstrated vocational competency relevant to CPC31920.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively engage and support adult learners.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining industry currency.
- Current General Construction Induction (White Card) is highly desirable.
Desirable
- Previous experience delivering training within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Experience delivering apprenticeship training.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems (SMS).
- Knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
- Experience participating in assessment validation and moderation.
- Experience developing or reviewing training and assessment resources.
