Head of Financial Planning & Performance – Corporate Markets
At MUFG Pension & Market Services (MPMS) , your senior finance leadership experience will directly support strategic decision‑making across a complex, global business. Reporting to the Group Planning & Performance Director , this role partners closely with the CEO, Corporate Markets and their Senior Leadership Team , providing enterprise‑level insight, disciplined performance management and clear executive reporting to support sustainable profitability and transformation outcomes.
Role overview
As Head of Financial Planning & Performance (Corporate Markets) , you will lead end‑to‑end financial performance management for a global P&L. You will own forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting and cost control, while acting as a trusted commercial advisor to senior executives.
A core focus of the role is strengthening cost discipline , uplifting executive‑level reporting , and supporting transformation initiatives in group finance and the broader Corporate Markets business through robust financial insight, modelling and governance. You will lead a high‑performing FP&A team and drive continuous improvement across finance processes and broader business operations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial performance management for the Corporate Markets P&L, including month‑end review, forecasting, budgeting and executive reporting
- Drive strong cost discipline across the business, identifying risks, opportunities and levers to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Partner with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to support strategic initiatives, transformation programs and long‑term planning
- Deliver high‑quality executive, Board and parent‑level reporting, translating complex financial results into clear commercial narratives
- Own rolling forecast and driver‑based modelling processes, ensuring accuracy, accountability and timely escalation of material risks and opportunities
- Provide commercial oversight and financial advice on business cases, contracts, pricing decisions and major investments (opex and capex)
- Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing FP&A team, building capability, succession and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Ensure strong governance, controls and compliance across financial processes, supporting enterprise risk management and regulatory obligations
About you
You are a senior finance leader with a strong track record in FP&A, financial control and transformation within complex, global organisations. You are commercially minded, confident operating at executive level, and comfortable challenging senior stakeholders to drive performance outcomes.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles in large organisations (FP&A, Financial Control or equivalent)
- CA, CPA or CIMA qualification
- Proven experience leading cost control and performance management in large, complex or multi‑currency environments
- Demonstrated success supporting transformation initiatives, process optimisation or finance uplift programs
- Strong executive presence with experience delivering insight and reporting to ELT, Boards or parent organisations
- Advanced financial modelling capability and strong proficiency in Excel and enterprise finance systems
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and partner across a matrix organisation
- Proven people leadership capability, including team development, coaching and succession planning
- Strong governance mindset with deep understanding of financial controls, risk and compliance
