This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the Controlling Team at VWFSA. We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to work alongside the Manager - Controlling in the role of Financial Analyst - Controlling. You will contribute to the preparation of VWFSA’s annual planning round, budget and monthly forecasts. You will provide reports on overhead and investment costs and provide recommendations for improvement based on your analysis, as well as oversee the company’s procurement process. This role provides excellent opportunities to understand the workings of an automotive finance company as well as opportunities to work with Department Heads and communicate with Controlling Headquarters in Germany.

What you’ll do:
- Become a proactive member of the Controlling Team
- Contribute to the development of the budget (annual and 5 year) and budget forecasts particularly in the area of financial reporting, vehicle sales statistics, Overhead reporting and Investments
- Conduct research and gather data as part of the budget preparation process
- Monitor and analyse business performance against budgets and forecasts, including overseeing the procurement process
- Prepare revised forecasts based on identified trends and variances
- Review financial management information system used by the business
- Recommend improvements to take account of changes in technology, business process or to improve accuracy
- Prepare monthly reports analysing business performance for the Managing Director – Back Office, General Manager Controlling, Manager - Controlling, Senior Management and headquarters in Germany
- Assist with the creation of MIS reports
- Implement resolutions for concerns identified from monthly and quarterly reports
- Provide financial analysis and develop reports to meet ad hoc needs of senior management
The successful applicant:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience within your current role
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or related discipline
- Experience in analysing balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Understanding of the drivers of business performance
- Ability to analyse financial data and construct useful KPIs
- Finance industry experience desirable and auto industry experience an advantage
- Experience with maintaining Excel spreadsheets and preparing Powerpoint Presentations are essential. Excel Modelling and experience with MIS data warehousing and report writing is advantageous
- Understanding of finance function and processes
