Location: Sydney CBD with hybrid and flexible working options.
Employment: Ongoing
Salary Range: Up to $195,679. Package includes salary ($149,739 - $173,17, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

The advertised position is for the Manager of our Custodial and Community Corrections workstream. A recruitment pool may be created to fill future Manager vacancies across other workstreams which may include:

The Role

The Manager leads a work stream responsible for end-to-end complaint handling, namely initial complaint assessment, early resolution, the making of preliminary inquiries, referral of appropriate matters for investigation or local resolution by external agencies, and the conducting of conciliations and investigations in order to support the delivery of the Ombudsman’s functions

About you

The successful candidate can demonstrate:

an understanding of the statutory functions and work of the Ombudsman
extensive experience in managing teams handling complaints or similar
excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with our diverse stakeholders, and to prepare complex correspondence and reports
experience analysing complex matters
demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
previous supervisory experience
ability to acquire valid working with children checks

Desirables

Formal qualifications (such as the Certificate IV Government (Investigations)) and experience in one or more of the sectors for which the work stream is responsible are highly desirable.
Australian motor vehicle licence and willingness to travel across NSW to participate in programs
