About the role
This Shopper Activation Manager role sits at the intersection of brand and customer, with a primary focus on delivering best-in-class shopper activation while offering exposure to 360° brand marketing.
Based in either our Sydney or Chadstone office, reporting into the Rice Senior Brand Manager, you will bring our brands to life where it matters most - influencing shopper decision-making across in-store, digital and retail media environments. You will also partner closely with Brand teams, gaining exposure to strategy, campaigns and innovation.
Working cross-functionally with Sales, Category and Brand, you will translate strategy into impactful, insight-led activations that drive commercial growth while delivering a consistent and compelling brand experience across the full shopper journey.
Key responsibilities will include:
Develop and execute shopper activation strategies that deliver strong commercial outcomes across Coles, Woolworths and other key retail customers
Translate brand strategy into compelling, shopper-led programs across the full path to purchase (in-store, digital and retail media)
Partner with Sales and Category teams to support Joint Business Plans and customer-specific activations
Lead end-to-end activation delivery including promotions, displays, POS and omnichannel campaigns
Manage agency partners to deliver high-quality creative and activation execution
Leverage shopper, customer and category insights to optimise plans and drive continuous improvement
Track and evaluate performance, ensuring strong ROI and embedding learnings into future programs
Manage budgets effectively, prioritising initiatives that drive incremental growth
Collaborate broadly to ensure a consistent and impactful brand experience across all touchpoints
About You
You are a commercially minded marketer who thrives on bringing brands to life in a way that truly connects with shoppers. Curious and insight-led, you enjoy understanding what drives behaviour and translating that into impactful activation. You are equally comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and navigating the fast-paced retail environment.
You will bring:
Proven experience in shopper / trade / customer marketing within FMCG
Strong experience working with Coles and/or Woolworths, with a deep understanding of their activation levers and ways of working wherever Rice Products are sold or can be sold.
Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to balance brand and sales outcomes
A natural curiosity and desire to deeply understand shopper behaviour and what drives conversion
Experience delivering end-to-end 360° marketing programs across multiple channels
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Data-led mindset with the ability to analyse performance and optimise activity
Strong project management and organisational capability
A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for bringing brands to life in impactful ways
