Full Job Description

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated FACILITY MANAGERS (PACKING OPERATIONS) to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Virginia site in South Australia.

As a valuable member of our team, this position will play a vital role in the success of our operations. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for agriculture we would love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Packing Operations Leader you will be working in a packing facility environment.

An attractive remuneration package between $90,000 - $110,000 is available to the right candidates.

Duties include but not limited to:

Ensure business systems/processes are optimal, outcome focused and consistently entrenched in the way we do business.
Ensure the optimal interface of the packing facility business unit with Farms, Transport, Shared Services and other Packing Sheds.
Ensure optimal washing and packing of produce, identifying risks as they arise and taking effective mitigation actions as required.
Ensure pack out values are maximised through optimising sizing and grading in recognition of current market economics.
Coordinate the delivery of harvested produce to the relevant packing shed, providing timely load reports and quality assessments to the grower and harvester.
Manage labour costs, ensuring all employees are working effectively and efficiently.
Oversee and manage packing shed operations, including daily management of staff and teams.
Undertake condition-based monitoring of equipment and report findings to the maintenance team, perform basic routine maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma level qualification plus at least 1 year of relevant experience or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Product quality experience and exposure to a face-paced 24/7 production environment.
Experience in a food packaging or processing environment.
Experience in the processing of potato, carrot, and onion products (desirable).
Experience operating machines, with the ability to resolve minor mechanical problems (desirable).
Leadership skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels.
Proven record in a similar position, providing evidence of results.
Commitment to ongoing learning and a strong work ethic is essential.
Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, ability to problem-solve and work under pressure.
Respect for others and pride in team’s performance.
Commitment to delivering team goals and the drive to be successful.
Strategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving and analysis skills.
Full/unrestricted driver’s licence (essential).
High Risk Work License (essential).

This position will require weekend and night work in line with production demands.
