We supply high-quality, Australian-made foam and polystyrene products to customers across the construction, packaging, signage and creative industries, with a strong focus on service, quality and practical solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Sales & Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day sales and operational performance while actively contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead our internal sales team, oversee day-to-day business operations, manage key customer opportunities, oversee supplier and logistics relationships, and proactively identify and develop new business opportunities.

This is a varied, hands-on management role suited to someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems, closing opportunities and is looking to make a long-term impact within a growing business.

This is a full-time, office-based role located in Perth City, with comprehensive product and systems training provided.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Take ownership of high-value sales opportunities, including medium-to-large enquiries, projects and prospective recurring clients.
Negotiate and follow up quotations and opportunities to maximise profitable sales and conversion.
Manage and grow relationships with key existing accounts.
Proactively identify, pursue and develop new business opportunities.
Re-engage dormant customers and explore opportunities across existing and new markets.
Maintain commercial discipline around pricing and gross profit margins.

Team Leadership

Lead, support and develop our small internal sales team.
Manage team workload, performance, accountability and customer service standards.
Manage attendance, leave and team coverage.
Provide regular coaching, feedback and support.

Operations

Oversee day-to-day sales and business operations.
Manage supplier, freight and 3PL relationships, including negotiation where appropriate.
Take ownership of escalated customer, supplier and delivery issues.
Identify and implement improvements to costs, internal systems, processes and operational efficiency.
Monitor sales performance, pipeline and key commercial metrics, providing regular updates to the Managing Director.
Maintain sufficient knowledge of order processing to provide support when required.

What Success Looks Like

You will be expected to:

Effectively lead and develop the sales team.
Convert high-value opportunities and prospective recurring clients into profitable sales.
Grow and retain key customer accounts.
Develop new business and establish valuable new customer relationships.
Protect gross profit margins through disciplined pricing and negotiation.
Effectively manage supplier, freight and operational performance.
Deliver measurable improvements to business efficiency, systems and processes.
Contribute to sustainable revenue and profitability growth.

A performance bonus will reward achievement above agreed commercial and business growth targets.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong combination of commercial, sales, operational and people-management capability.

You will ideally have:

Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in sales, operations, account management and/or business development, ideally within a B2B environment.
Previous experience leading and developing a small team.
Background in foam, construction, insulation, packaging, wholesale or a similar industry would be highly regarded.
Strong commercial, communication and negotiation skills, with a consultative approach to selling.
Confidence dealing with medium and large B2B customers and converting opportunities into profitable business.
Confidence in proactive business development, lead generation and client engagement.
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
A sound understanding of margins, pricing and profitability.
Confidence using CRM and business management systems.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to represent the business and pursue new opportunities.
