Behaviour Support Practitioner (Proficient / Core)

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support (BSP) Practitioner with at least 12 months of experience to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Western Sydney.

Location: Flexibility with a mix of Community based work, Penrith/ Blacktown clinics and WFH
Work Type: Part-Time
Sector: Disability Support / Allied Health (NDIS)

Modern Clinical Spaces. Access welcoming clinic spaces in Penrith and Blacktown, with free onsite parking and facilities designed to support participant engagement.
Sustainable Workloads. Our KPI expectations are designed to support high-quality clinical practice rather than volume-based service delivery. We recognise that effective Behaviour Support requires time for assessment, consultation, documentation, plan development, training, and review, and we structure workloads accordingly.

About the Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with participants and their support networks to improve quality of life, reduce behaviours of concern, and support the reduction and, where possible, elimination of restrictive practices.

You will manage a caseload of participants across a range of ages and support needs, providing assessment, consultation, capacity building, training, and ongoing review services.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and other relevant behavioural assessments.
Develop, implement, and review evidence-based, person-centred Behaviour Support Plans.
Facilitate the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices in accordance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
Provide behaviour support implementation training, coaching, and capacity-building to families, support workers, carers, and other stakeholders.
Prepare high-quality clinical documentation, including behaviour assessments, behaviour support plans, progress reports, risk assessments, and recommendations that clearly articulate participant needs and outcomes.
Collaborate closely with internal multidisciplinary team members and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective supports.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational, professional, and NDIS requirements.

About You

We are looking for a practitioner who aligns with our values and demonstrates the following:

Experience. A minimum of 12 months of experience practising as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
Registration. Current registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Core and Proficient practitioners are encouraged to apply.
Person-Centred Approach. A genuine commitment to improving participant quality of life through respectful, evidence-based, and person-centred practice.
Collaboration. Strong ability to work effectively with participants, families, support networks, allied health professionals, and community stakeholders.
Clinical and Report-Writing Skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into practical, easy-to-implement strategies for support teams and families.
Restrictive Practice Knowledge. Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles, restrictive practice reduction strategies, and NDIS reporting and compliance requirements. Experience with restrictive practice authorisation and reporting is highly regarded.

Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Ability to travel throughout the local region as required
