Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 ($116,981 - $129,492 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Procurement Officer role will be working in the Human Services Category Management team in Procurement. In this role you will provide procurement advice on how to undertake contract variations, extensions, and new procurements in the Procurement Central system to key stakeholders to meet business needs and expectations.

What you’ll do

As part of the Human Services team within Strategic Procurement, You will be meeting with various divisions across DCJ to assist with procurements in human services with a strong focus on contract variations and extensions, high complexity new procurement activities by assisting your stakeholders to complete their procurements in a timely manner and consistent with all applicable procurement policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:
Manage and deliver procurement projects on time and on target as required for the Department to maintain and extend its procurement accreditation.

Provide sound advice and support to the Procurement team and Business Owners across the Department on individual procurement projects, category management, supplier relationship management, policy & governance, systems and continuous improvement.

Deliver value for money for the Department while supporting social and environmental procurement objectives.

Conduct engagement, planning and analysis that support business needs and strategic objectives.

Provide timely advice, communication, reports and submissions for key divisional, departmental and external stakeholders.

Ensure that tools, systems and reporting including spend analytics support best practice in procurement across the Department and NSW.

Participate in procurement initiatives and projects, as required, and may be deployed to other areas within the Procurement to meet client and business needs, drive cross- skilling and enable skills development.

The Human Services team sits in Strategic Procurement in the Corporate Services division. The team consists of nine members, reporting to the Manager, Human Services.

The Human Services teamwork in a fast-paced environment working on multiple contract variations and new projects simultaneously.

The teamwork in a collaborative and supportive manner to ensure that the teamwork is maintained to deliver stakeholder needs in a flexible and customer service centric approach.

What we’re looking for

Our ideal candidate is someone who:
Is able to work well under pressure and.
Is a motivated procurement specialist, preferably with experience in human services ideally. Experience in commissioning or contract management would be useful if no experience in procurement.
Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
Is able to work with minimal supervision, on numerous projects, simultaneously.
Is able to balance competing deadlines on time critical projects.
Has the ability to navigate applicable procurement policies and procedures and provide advice to stakeholders to achieve the procurement outcomes in a compliant way.
Can deliver outcomes with the high attention to detail.
Can proactively seek out solutions, demonstrating a high level of initiative, accountability, and self-motivation.
