Trainee – Anaesthetics & Intensive Care Medicine
A position is currently available for a Trainee in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine at Orange Health Service. The position provides six (6) months accredited Anaesthetic experience and six (6) months accredited Intensive Care experience. This post would particularly suit ANZCA or CICM trainee looking for a regional term in a busy trauma centre and for applicants wishing to develop a base line practical skills set in Intensive Care Medicine.

Focusing on innovative models of care, Orange Health Service is the largest rural hospital in NSW and the regional teaching, referral and trauma centre for the Central West. The 520 bed campus has a 270 bed general hospital, with five operating suites and 60 specialised treatment areas.
Opened in 2011, services include FACEM-staffed emergency, inclusive of trauma; level 5 intensive care, medical, general and specialist surgical; obstetrics; paediatrics; level 4 maternity; dialysis; dental; cardiology, stroke, telestroke, interventional cardiology; radiation oncology; ambulatory care; rehabilitation; sub-acute/non-acute; diagnostic and a range of primary and community health services.
The hospital has one of the largest regional clinical trials units conducting a range of trials (incl tele‐trials and phase 1 trials) across a several specialties.

Essential Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
- Valid NSW Working with Children check.
- Cleared National Police check.
- Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.

- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- At least three years' post graduate experience, ideally including terms in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care with a minimum of 12 months experience working within the Australian public health care system within the previous 24 months.
- Demonstrates commitment to pursuing a career in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine or associated speciality with registration or intention to register with an appropriate professional body (e.g. ANZCA, CICM).
- Demonstrated orientation to rural/regional practice through life experiences, medical school and/or residency, outlining evidence of commitment to the provision of health care in a rural setting, preferably with experience of rural or regional medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective oral, written and computer skills and demonstrated good organisational time management skills.
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
- Ability and willingness to deliver patient care and preparedness and ability to participate in a shift and on-call roster.
