Primary objective
Provides a recognised reference point and consistent broad level of influence regarding service planning, delivery and the use of clinical
information and data to inform decision-making across a defined practice area.

Context statement
The position sits within the Health Informatics function and is responsible for the design, development and ongoing optimisation of clinical
reporting solutions and data systems that improve evidence-based decision-making and health outcomes across NT Health, particularly in
Primary Health Care settings. The role requires hands-on technical capability in data management and report design, including building
and maintaining reports, dashboards and data models using Power BI and SQL, to translate complex clinical data into reporting solutions
that are accurate, clinically relevant and fit for purpose. The role works collaboratively with clinical services, epidemiology and digital
health teams to ensure reporting solutions are technically sound and applied to support quality improvement, service planning and frontline
clinical practice.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide contemporary human, material and financial resource management for the defined area of practice, including leadership of

clinical informatics, reporting and data management initiatives.
2. Support delivery of excellence in nursing/midwifery care by modelling advanced clinical knowledge, including the interpretation and

application of data to inform decision-making, and facilitating capability development in evidence-based and data-informed practice.
3. Provide leadership, education and expert advice to clinicians and stakeholders to support effective use of data, reporting systems and

dashboards for clinical decision-making, quality improvement and service planning.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to support reporting, research, service improvement initiatives and organisational

priorities.
5. Demonstrate NTH values – safe, responsive, kind – in all decision-making and interactions
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated high-level leadership skills in clinical informatics and data-driven practice, including strategic thinking and the ability to

translate clinical requirements into meaningful data insights to support evidence-based decision-making, service improvement and
translation of contemporary evidence into practice.

3. Demonstrated ability to analyse service performance using clinical data and implement evidence-based initiatives to improve client
outcomes, program functions and organisational efficiency.

4. Demonstrated use of effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including with multidisciplinary teams and executive
management, to build productive working relationships and support change.

5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care
provision for individuals and groups.

1. Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area.
