Hunter New England Health is seeking motivated and highly organised Clinical Support Officers to join our teams at John Hunter Hospital. We currently have two exciting opportunities available:

G3 Cardiology/Gastroenterology Ward – Permanent Part Time (1 day per fortnight, every second Tuesday)
H3 MACU/ESSU Ward – Temporary Part Time (3 days per week until December 202

Where you'll be working:
You'll be part of either the G3 Cardiology/Gastroenterology Ward or the H3 MACU/ESSU Ward, working alongside a supportive and collaborative team of administration staff, Nurse Unit Managers, nurses, and medical officers.

These busy inpatient units provide a fast-paced and rewarding environment where teamwork, communication, and patient-centred care are highly valued. You'll play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward and helping clinical teams deliver high-quality care.

About the role:
As a Clinical Support Officer, you'll provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager and broader ward team across a variety of operational and administrative functions.

No two days are the same. Your responsibilities may include:

Providing administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager and ward staff
Coordinating and managing documentation, correspondence, and records
Assisting with ward administration processes and reporting requirements
Liaising with clinical and non-clinical staff across the hospital
Supporting efficient communication within the team
Providing Patient Support Officer coverage during periods of leave or absence

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support.
