Diploma Qualified Educator / Room Leader

Location: Meadowbank, Sydney NSW
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

About Us

We are a well-established 31-place Long Day Care centre located in Meadowbank, providing care and education for children across Nursery, Toddler and Preschool age groups.

We are looking for a passionate, reliable and experienced Diploma Qualified Educator / Room Leader to join our supportive team. This role is suitable for an educator who enjoys taking leadership within the room, supporting colleagues and contributing to high-quality educational programs and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the daily operation of the room
Develop and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences
Support the ongoing planning cycle, including observations, learning goals, follow-ups and reflections
Ensure programs and practices align with the EYLF, NQF and National Quality Standards
Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Build positive relationships with children and families
Mentor and support educators within the room
Ensure accurate completion of room documentation and records
Support routines, transitions, supervision and regulatory compliance
Work collaboratively with the Centre Manager, Educational Leader and wider team
Contribute to the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or ACECQA-approved equivalent
Previous experience working in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting
Previous Room Leader or leadership experience is highly desirable
Strong understanding of the EYLF, NQF and National Quality Standards
Current NSW Working With Children Check
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain/update
Current Child Protection training
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, organised and confident in supporting a team
Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development
