About the role:

This is a Fixed Term, part-time position at 0.6 EFT, 45.6 hours per fortnight until 31 July 2027 within the Disability Liaison Officer Program, part of the RCH Allied Health Team.

You will be responsible for providing support for people with disability, their families, and carers to access relevant assessment and treatment. You will provide clinical services and leadership in addressing barriers children and young people with disabilities experience accessing health services.

The Disability Liaison Officer provides key clinical services and leadership in addressing barriers people with disabilities experience accessing health services. This role will serve the speciality hospitals in the Parkville precinct, the Royal Children’s Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, and the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre.

Internally, this position will be known and/or referred to as: Disability Liaison Officer - Allied Health Clinician Grade 3.

Classification for this position will be governed by Award 01 - Allied Health and will range from SC31 (Grade 3, Year 1, excl. Allied Health Managers) to SC34 (Grade 3, Year 4, excl. Allied Health Managers), $104,135.20 to $118,981.20 per annum, pro rata for part-time, plus Superannuation.

What you'll achieve:

Help children and young people with disability, their families and carers access health assessment and treatment
Provide disability-specific secondary consultation to support the broader health service to provide more accessible, safe, and inclusive care to people with a disability
Make or coordinate reasonable adjustments across the continuum of care
Work directly with disability service providers identifying key staff within facilities who can assist in awareness and creation of health care pathways / accessibility for people with a disability

Your skills and experience:

Recognised Qualification in an Allied Health discipline with current registration with AHPRA (where relevant)
Working knowledge of the Victorian public health care system and NDIS processes, procedures and structures
Postgraduate qualification and/or experience in health systems and/or health service leadership, health promotion, disability inclusion

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain
