About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Social Worker (Grade 3) to join our team at Ravenhall Correctional Centre. This role provides professional leadership within the social work discipline and delivers high-quality, recovery-focused services to consumers in a forensic mental health setting.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:
- Lead and mentor social work staff and students.
- Deliver specialist social work services, including psychosocial assessments, risk and needs planning, and family engagement.
- Contribute to policy development, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support consumer recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to social work staff.
- Deliver evidence-based social work interventions in line with the Forensicare Model of Care.
- Undertake structured family and risk assessments.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate care and support services.
- Participate in service development, research, and professional education activities.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the target population, a demonstrated ability to provide high-level leadership, management and supervision of staff and students.
You will have demonstrated experience in delivering specialist social work services including clinical, primary, secondary and tertiary consultation within a complex and dynamic environment. And proven skills and experience in developing and implementing complex case plans involving direct and indirect social work practice.
What you will need:
- Approved degree in Social Work.
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
